New Lipton PureLeaf(TM) Red Tea with Blueberry and Pomegranate

Our Red Tea

Unlike our other teas that come from the Camellia sinesis plant, our Lipton PureLeaf Red Tea starts with tea from the Rooibos plant, found only in South Africa. It is considered an herbal tea.

To make our red tea, Rooibos is blended with black tea leaves picked at their peak, and then invigorated with Guarana and Ginseng. Lastly, luscious blueberry and pomegranate flavors round out the smooth infusion, resulting in pure, all natural energizing refreshment.

Pairing Food with Tea

Making great tea has a lot in common with making great wine — tea has perfect growing conditions, exceptional growing regions and prime harvest times. Just as wines are selected to enhance and complement the flavors of certain foods, tea may be matched to particular items on a menu.

Try these pairing suggestions from our chefs, but keep in mind that pairing tea with food is a personal exploration of tastes, aromas and flavors.

Black Tea

Pure, robust taste of tea leaves picked at their peak. Bold, strong flavors pair well with hearty breakfast foods such as eggs, cheese, smoked fish, bacon and ham. Also pairs well with strong foods like red meats, curries, spicy dishes and pastries.

Green Tea

Subtle flavor of green tea leaves with the smooth taste of honey work perfectly together for a unique and refreshing drinking experience. Pairs well with fish and seafood dishes, as well as poultry and vegetarian dishes.

White Tea

Light taste of white tea blends well with tangerine and sits lightly on the palate with flavors both fresh and subtle. Pairs well with fish and seafood dishes, as well as poultry and vegetarian dishes. Compliments sweets nicely.

Red Tea

Bold taste of rich red tea rounded out with luscious blueberry and pomegranate flavors for a smooth, sophisticated infusion. A pleasant lift for mid afternoon, pairs best with hearty foods, red meats, curries, spicy dishes, and pastries.

INFUSIONS

More [+]

Tea is great to infuse flavor into sweet and savory dishes. Use alone, or in combination with oil, broth, water, cream or any other cooking liquid. Green Tea with Honey adds a particularly delightful taste to rice.

TEA COCKTAILS

More [+]

Turn lots of different flavored teas into fun, jazzy cocktails, with alcohol. Tea has become a popular ingredient in many drink recipes thanks to its pleasant, yet light, fruity and crisp flavor notes and balance. Tea mixes well with lighter spirits as well as wine and sparkling wine.

NON-ALCOHOLIC TEA BEVERAGES

More [+]

Tea provides a variety of flavor combinations for creating non-alcoholic beverages, too. Make your own virgin mojitos, martinis and mimosas. Or try refreshing smoothies, frappes and sparklers.

MARINADES

More [+]

Tea is the perfect ingredient to be used in subtle marinades for light dishes like fish and chicken.

SYRUPS

More [+]

Transform tea into a flavorful glaze or sauce by simply sweetening and simmering to a reduction. Pair with fruit, cake or ice cream, serve over delicate savory dishes like fish and chicken or try it on salads in place of dressing. Our chefs highly recommend the White Tea with Tangerine to make simple syrup.

FROZEN

More [+]

Tea makes a great base for sorbets, granitas and simple ice pops. Try freezing your favorite tea as an ice cube for a fun twist!
